On the weekend my TD5 D2 had major surgery 6pm-11:30pm Sat removed the old head. Sun 8:00am to 1:30am mon replaced water-pump just in-case and fitted new AMC head.
I didn't think it would take so long. Had a few Doh moments, like fitted the rocker cover only to remember I never adjusted the rollers. Didn't reconnect the main fuel hose to the cooler. (that explained the puddle of diesel on the floor when priming) After that was sorted I primed the rail 7 times then turned the key and she started. That was a relief.
The water pump took 4 hours to remove and refit (there was absolutely nothing wrong with the old one but at least I know now and have a good spare)
