Sat on the veranda waiting for mail-man to arrive with new-old CDL lever. Already got correct knob & boot during a test drive.

    'Fred' blowing bubbles

Fitted new viscous fan hub and air purge pipe to 'Fred' today, next I am going to do the burning match in the bottle trick, to see if the bubbles coming up in the coolant are air or combustion gas. I bet that I will be replacing the head gasket next.

Wired in some new Alpine component speakers and set up the stereo. I'm willing to bet that my wife doesn't notice the difference and will be wondering what I've done in the 4 hours I've spent on the job.

Were the speakers direct replacements for the OEM units? If so, which model did you use?

Finally got around to putting the longer bolts in for the bullbar crush cans, philco recovery points and wombat bar
All together now, the windscreen washer tank is in a shocking spot for it, lucky my (dads) torque wrench just fits
Also replaced the blown tail light globes, still need to do the one for the number plates
Checked the oil and coolant, all the little things like that

Well, I need to replace the driver seat bottom, and after watching the video on the Exmoor Trim video on replacing the D1 foam & diaphragm, I took my D2 seat out & pulled it apart to see if it was similar. Close enough, and the foam definitely needs replacing. Exmoor have a new upgraded diaphragm, so put everything back together, now have to decide if I'll get new foam & upgraded diaphragm, or go 2nd hand from Aus. . New sounds good, Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Tomorrow a new 100amp Disco alternator will be fitted, when it turns up.

One up for a mechanically injected diesel, been driving it around today without any charge going into the battery from the alternator.

You can still get genuine foam and covers from the uk. Cheaper than Exmoor too.
I fitted a replacement drivers seat base cover about a month ago. Got in early before the foam was exposed, so foam was not too bad, but probably could have done with replacing.
