Today I realized that I CAN'T put 10-spline CV inners into 24-spline CV outers (should have done my research) I was hoping to convert the stub axle assembly of my diff to 24 spline so that I could use my nice new HD drive flanges I bought to match the rear Maxidrive ...I realized this AFTER I installed new bearings into my spare 24-spline compatible stub axles.
meh' oh well. the good thing is that when I pulled one of the axles out of my disco I found that my drivers side CV was completely buggered. thankfully I have spares. Better to find this stuff out in the yard rather than on the side of the road.
...also now I have 4 spare abs compatible 24-spline CVs but im sure someone will want to buy them off me.
(ps. reason I have 10-spline front axle configuration in the 98 disco in the first place is because I couldn't turn down a complete range rover diff with air locker and MD axles for $500 at the time)
