Not actually today but recently....gave the beast a scrub down and removed 7 weeks of grot from inside.
Then removed remap and too it to Rovertech Bentley for a tune up of the injectors/pump.
Pete at BAS redid my tune and I reinstalled that then back to Rovertech for a further fiddle.......oooops! Shouldn't have done that according to Pete as I'll lose the remap if I take it off in the future but as it's not under warranty I shouldn't have to.
Following our recent 12K trip I've also changed the oil and filter and air filter plus greased the prop shaft, replacing the long nipple which had fallen (!!!) out of one joint. Hope there's no sand in there.....
It's running really well with much less injector noise than usual.
Trouble is I can now hear all the noise emanating from the passenger side where the Cook sits.

When I purchased my D2 two years ago my reverse sensor was not working. It was identified as the off side outer sensor as faulty.

As these cost around $100 I have not worried too much about it. Well yesterday I decided it was time to fix it. So I went to investigate how to remove it and I found that the plug at the back was not in properly.

Put the plug in and all works. Two years I have been without this luxury and all it was was a loose plug.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Thought about ordering an R380 and transfer case from Ashcroft's. Remembered I can't afford to at the moment. Drew a pretty picture of the tyre carrier that I'm planning to build instead.

Installed a 2 x 2 metre Iron Man awning and the Projecta dual battery system in time for camping with the kid this weekend.

    Alive tuning fuel map file

Just installed my new stage 2 map file, big improvement over stage one. It's smoother and more powerful making it hard to pick, except for the extra torque!

Not actually today.. Fitted the EGR blanking kit I've had for about 18 months, and doing so noticed the exhaust manifold is warping (again), and has broken a stud. So, I bought a stainless steel one, more like a set of headers. Will fit tomorrow as the thing is hot now.

Temporarily fitted a LED light bar. I've got two, and I want to see which one is best.

Unblocked the drain holes under the A pillar so the sunroof drains onto the ground and NOT on the passenger side floor. Took me a while to figure that one out.

Emptied about 100 bugs out of the air box, so I turned the snorkel inlet around.

Fitted new nylon thingies that hold the headlights in, as I was tired of picking the driver's side one up off the roo bar.

Johntins- please let us know how you get on with the fabricated header.
To date; No one has successfully made one that hasn't cracked in use.
    Pics would be great too...

Allisport and a couple of others returned to a bespoke cast manifold when the tubular ones continued to fatigue when used...

Pulled some more bits of my 2a today, battery box, dash fascia and instruments, wiring, floor panels and brake and clutch pedal boxes, seats. Can see the firewall now. Put a spanner on the bulkhead bolts, both came undone easily. Think the two door lower galv strips that are bolted to the bulkhead and seat box, bolts will snap off. Noticed the steering is very stiff with both wheels off the ground, slop in the box as well. Will find out tomorrow when I remove the steer box and column where the stiffness is.

    Cheers Rod

Went through my new D2 today like a dose of salts.
New oil, air, and fuel filters, new brake fluid, greased driveshaft uni's, full service.
Just have to service the auto, fix the lh door lock actuator and let the mods begin.

Nice surprise today however, found its got a near new set of Terrafirma a/t shocks all round which according to Terrafirma's website will accept up to a 2" lift, so I will only need springs when that time comes
