When i get REALLY bored it will be time for ' The Last Lion' on Winston Churchill, 1,500 pages should be enthralling, or i have the 8 hours WAr & Peace Movie, unwatched

played Land Rover tertris replacing the starter solenoid. Took the carby off the adaptor and found one of the studs had been driven it at an angle and had killed the thread.

p.s I got RSI reading a paperback version of War & Peace.

    Also played Land Rover Tetris.

Took out the fan, aux belt, PAS pump, water pump, auxiliary bracket. Cleaned some stuff up. Put in new water pump and used PAS pump. Jiggered around trying to avoid removing the oil rotor and turbo. Remounted aux bracket and water pump. Couldn't get the lid on the pump, so unbolted all but one point on the aux bracket. Squeezed the pump lid in. Bolted all up. Added PAS pump. Wrangled AC comp. Connected coolant and PAS hoses...

... Remembered I had put some tape over the coolant port in the block. Right under the Aux bracket. Where that o-ring goes.

Pulled it all back off. Rinse and repeat. Kinda glad I remembered. Could have been interesting.

    Sheesh. What an amateur. ;-)

D3... Got the message "engine systems fault" with reduced performance. Used my basic tools (on holidays in a caravan park currently) and removed the starting battery and tray (this bit took 20 mins) and massaged the turbo actuator arm with some wire and WD40. (That took 20 seconds). Then reassembled all the plastic bits (30 minutes) all the old girl has full boost again with no warning message. Back to having coffee in the annex again

Looks better now that I have retensioned it ! According to the leaflet that came with it, it will take a while to shrink and stretch tight. In that time, keep retensioning it.

made up a new res to clutch M/Cyl pipe for the 2a trayback, and the sod is leaking! Must have a bur on the swage. And the bleed in the slave wont undo so looks like floor out in the morning took spark plugs out of the 2.6 motor I acquired last week for the sum of a carton of castaway cider! , and put some oil in the cyls and turned it over. Another 1 day job
