Tidied the under steering column panel wiring for my low coolant alarm, UHF, extra fuse block, etc.
Vacuumed the carpets, wiped the trim down, wiped the seats down with leather wipes, and scraped off and cleaned up where some old stickers were.

Started installing new rear discs on the defender and new seals in the brake pistons. Discovered that new oil seals were not the answer to vagrant diff oil........New stubs are!! The old oil seal surface had a grand canyon type wear groove. More expense! Ahh well its only money....cant take it with me

I've had the flu so George has been resting. Only thing I've done recently was to black the wheelarch flares.
However, we did buy an Evakool 35 litre fridge-freezer at the Brisbane caravan show last weekend. It is to go in the back of George on top of the drawers for future travels, in addition to the battered 40 litre Engel in the CT. Electrics and battery are ready to go. Soon, I hope ... .

Replaced the front brake pads and sprayed the brake hose joints with penetrating fluid in anticipation of finally fitting the extended stainless steel braided ones. Brakes have come up nice and firm.

Noted that the RDA slotted discs - I know these get a bad rap - are only about half worn after several years.

Next weekend... new Conti airbags and a seal kit for the SLS compressor.

    Freelander 2 Td4 Service

Due to head to FNQ in 10 days so started servicing the Freelander 2 (first time since purchase) - all going well but got quite a surprise when I got to the very inaccessible pollen filter. The following picture shows the old and the new filter. It appears that whoever fitted the last one became so frustrated that he gave up and just rammed it in without taking the time to align it correctly.

Also, while replacing the fuel filter I learnt that you can get away without needing special bleeding tools to suck the fuel up into the filter by simply removing the drain screw, blocking the drain outlet with your finger and filling the filter with fuel. Once filled with fuel you replace the drain screw, remove your finger from the outlet then replace old filter with new primed filter and motor should start without a problem.

Took the s3 out for a drive today.
    It then started raining.
    Then it started pouring.
It was the first time ive been driving the s3 in that much rain.
    What wipers?
They were there and moving but not doing that much.
    They had new rubbers.
Wind was blowing them around the screen too much💨.
I was wishing i had an umbrella inside the old girl almost☔.

    Welcome to series ownership...😆.

Was still fun driving though. And the brakes were fine too even after going through a couple really big puddles💦.

I must have fixed them good😆.

    Loved it👍👍👍

    Cheers Rod
