Oil in the injector harness connector?
If I disconnect the injector harness from the loom at the engine (td5) will oil be visible on the loom plug if it is getting past the harness?
I don't have a problem 'yet' but if I can tell simply by looking there it would be good instead of waiting till it gets to the ECU.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Paul.

It was on mine?
The general view I read on the forum is to treat the harness as a consumable and replace it every two years?
Haven't yet read a post that has claimed "long term" success in solving the problem.

Hi op,
Not sure weather the issue is defender or disco?
Oil should be visible when you disconnect the loom from the ecu! I recently checked mine and it had light trace's just cleaned it with a contact cleaner and all has been well...
Tris...

If you take the connection apart at the rocker cover you may see oil there earlier and can then change the injector harnuss and pevent it travelling to the ECU?

Just which harness do you replace, my 2003 defender has never had one replaced and I just keep cleaning the ECU connector and flushing the compartment clean. Never had a problem bur I expect that one day it will come.

You replace the injector harness. About $A130.
There is a multi plug at the front of the motor disconnect it and see if it has oil in it.
Once the oil has reached the ECU connector it means you have two contaminated harness's.
From what I read the best cure is to replace the injector harness every say two years (depends on K's). If the wiring loom from the injector harness to the ECU is contaminated just keep cleaning until it clears or try and pressurise each wire until it blows out.
That's my take. There are a number of detailed threads on this far better explaining the problems and cure than I have.
