Id be going GU's all round. The big reason for me is you know there will be at least 1000000 people at the comps running them and there is always going to be spare hubs/cv's around to beg borrow and steal.

Portals count you out of many of the big comps to so thats worth noting.

Im a fan of autos too. It just depends on what comps you are wanting to use if for really.
Hi I like the idea of the super charger but by the time you have spent the money on the yella terra charger (one that can be intercooled) I will be up for about 8 grand if i buy a turbo and get it worked so it boost's earlier i will be better off both ways power and in the pocket! And also i love the sound of a turbo v8!!!!

The Jap crowd upgrade when they go 35'' and they don't have 400hp,the bloke who fitted my D/Gas system has a duramax in his Patrol and he has busted everything and is going the auto route with fabricated ford 9'' diff's,I haven't seen him for 12months so don't know if he did it or not. That thing would murder a V8,the torque was something else. Can import them from the UK, about $3k landed, came from armoured vehicles. Or popemobile on here is building front Sals housings for around $2k, but thats just the housing, you need to fill it, but its designed to take standard front axle lenghts.

So what i'm gathering is that the sals are great diffs but all up they will cost around the 8 grand mark after lockers and stuff?????

All this makkes the nissan conversion even better

The nissan stuff will handle the power so if i put the nissan 5 speed behind it as well then atleast the parts will be easy to get and also importing diffs sounds $$$$$ if they break!!!!

    Thanks Adam

Sals should cost no more than nissan to build. Lockers cost the same. Lowranger (i think) on here converted his rear sals to take Dana60 gears and now runs 35 spline axles. You've still got to do CV's either way you go as well. Its much of a muchness

Why not just use a 101 front end - there should be a few around if you were to look hard - use bigger CVs and bigger axles.
