I have been advised today that the box needs a reco or replacement.
My options so far are;
Local guy who did the assessment can reco the box and install for 3.5 to 4k with a 20/12 warranty
LRA has a 100000km second hand unit for $1450 plus installation with 3 month warranty or reco units for 3K plus installation
I can import one from Ashcrofts for about 2.5k ( plus any payable import duties?)- this surprised me!
Rovacraft are going to call me back if they have a good second hand unit.
If anyone has any other ideas to assist an economical fix then I would appreciate them.:cool:

check the simple stuff first, hows fluids and the cable adjustment?

Guess I am taking the mechs word for inspecting the vehicle and coming to the conclusion that he has...wont hurt to ask him specifically if he has inspected the linkages and cables thx

3.5 4 thousand is the going rate to reco your box. this includes removal and fitting.

Have you stuck in a bottle of Nulon Auto treatment? Might be worth a go perhaps ;)
