i had a small slit, about 10mm long.
took it to a guy, he said he'll do it but he wont charge me for it and i can only use it as a spare.
i got rid of it, i just couldn't trust it.

Seriously?? Tyres are like brakes and steering; Your life and the lives of others depend on them.
Modern tyres are amazing things, but they are easily compromised by damage.
Reputable tyre services won't repair them for the same reason reputable mechanics
won't fit secondhand tie rod ends. It just isn't safe.
I would patch a sidewall as a last resort to get me out of the bush, but I'd throw the
tyre away straight after, and I'm by no means wealthy.
