Factory spacers are legal. Some models of Porsche have them too.

Still no go up there?

No. No form of spacer is allowed in any Australian jurisdiction unless factory fitted.

    thanks guys,

so what problems am I likely to come across/points that might foul, if I was to run a rim that was 60mm more inboard than a stock LR steel rim?...

I can't see it being a problem re foulding. Since I assume your axle will be wider and your suspension links will stay in the same place.

yes, suspension links in the same place....any ideas of a good place to get some 16x6 or 16x6.5 made with custom backspace

Given QLD pricing it may be cheaper to have some made by Summerfield Engineering in Perth and shipped over!

Race engineering are the main people that do them, but charge over $100 per rim. Summerfield charged me $44 per rim.

The GCLRO guys may know a cheaper place closer to you.

Rim Inboard or outboard Serg? Inboard the tyre will obviousely fou on radius arms when turning. Outboard tyre may foul on outer guards or flairs.
60mm more per rim is 120mm wider track! you are only permitted 50mm. 60mm less is 120mm narrower track. Are you prepping for portals?

I think Serg means if he fits a big wide axle (e.g. portals), and needs to run negative offset wheels to reduce track down to legal width, will he have any problems.

Yes Ben, but Sergs original post suggested he probably wanted to widen the wheel track, but more or less let the cat out of the bag with later posts.

Just measured a std 5.5'' 110 wheel. 60mm more backspacing will bring the Wheel Mounting Surface of the centre 5mm out from the outer edge of the rim, so the original centres can't be re used, you'd need to factor in the cost of custom made probably flat plate centres around 16.5'' diameter to weld to the outer face of the bead flange. Will a 110 brake caliper clear the ID of a std deep well rim?

    positive offset reduces the track
