They should be exactly the same with a load space length of 870 mm (rear seats up). With seats down, the length for the Disco is 1325 mm and the Rangie 1445 (for the 100 in wheelbase) and 1545 for the LSE (108 in wheelbase). All figures from The Land Rover Experience by Tom Sheppard (LR Part No. STC.8545.A.A).

Without knowing exact measurements, but owning both, there is HEAPS more room in the back of a RRC than a D1. Plenty of room behind the Rangie seats for my 40L Engel. Disco not so much.

More depth in the RRC but the disco wins with its extra roof height so it would be pretty close volume wise , doesnt help with a fridge but you can stack it higher with a C/barrier in a disco .

Rr is heaps better, check where the chassis pokes out on a disco and is tucked under on an rr, also heaps better to pack, stacking up not across is far from fun

    X 2

Width wise is lost on the D1 where the fold up seats pack away on the sides, also the rear door swings open
The fold down tailgate is very useful on the RRC, like having a workbench for outdoor BBQ's, camping, whatever.
you can gain even more room by putting the spare on a wheel carrier on the back.

The later RRC did have a cd stacker, & some a sub-woofer fitted in the back RHS though
