Took me under 1/2 hour changing the starter on the ute the other day, lucky it's a '79 with the flip back bonnet and 9/16 hex bolts to the block. Did it from above with a ring spanner.:p

no good lads, needed an 8mm allen key socket. only had normal allen keys with me. F***ING spewing! gotta have a look around the garage tomorrow for a set of allen key sockets to take back to the factory and have another crack at it
make one...
cut a bit out of the handle of you 8mm allen key then put it into an 8mm socket.
i was tempted to but i didnt wanna ruin my set. its all good i found one. lucky my dad used to own a tool business and when he closed it everything went into the garage. hard to find things but i know 99% of what i need will be there
installed today. was an absolute Prik! needed 2 ratchets, 4 extension bars, a t handle, a breaker bar, 2x8mm sockets, a screwdriver, and 3 blokes! phew!! glad that over with. starts like a dream though!!!
Glad you got it all done - You should have called me - I had already cut down an allen key to do the job:D.
If you think that was hard, wait a while and something really difficult will pop its ugly head up for you to go insane about...:p
If you ever need a hand, sing out. - Cheers - Gav.
