I have a Mercedes 2.7 GT2256V here, while all indications are the same wheels and housing size as the HS2.8 turbo, the inlet flange is an orphan that doesn't even sit square to the turbo in any orientation.

Vacuum yes. I think electrical feedback on the vacuum actuator came later and by now many are straight electrical actuators. I've swapped mine across from vacuum to pressure but have yet to fit it.
The HS2.8 is the only VNT I know of that was factory fitted with a pressure actuator. It's also the only VNT I know of factory fitted to a mechanical injection engine.
