Anyone had experience with Chinese Air Lockers

Tank Jr, you and Tank Senior are missing the point....engine torque X all gear ratios X vehicle weight X momentum X friction X shock Loading will break stuff everyday.

Look at after market axles and cv's, that are rated higher than that 6000lb/ft. They are being broken in comp and non comp 4x4 alot....and none of their engines are producing 6000lb/ft

Yes Hardeman Bros in Moorabbin do ARBs gears.They brooched out a few Salisbury side gears to the 101 shaft size.

Gentlemen, I only asked for an instance, (and got it), I always figured in a Land Rover, esp. a Series the axle would go first, as for the boy, he's stirring, Regards Frank.

With the difflock engaged and one wheel in the air, a 10 spline axle would definately let go well before 5000lbft. but with both wheels firmly planted they could probably go to 6500lbft.
I've run out of power in a loaded series swb in low low on a steep grade where the front wheels were just patting the ground, so almost 100% of the available torque was going to the back wheels, and nothing broke.

yes it might make 124 foot pound at the engine lets say we measure from the back of the gear box how much is lost through the gear box you might only be looking at 70 or 80 foot pound making it to the differential

and as to land rover diffs i have reversed over a gutter and snapped teeth of the crown wheel so id say any thing is an improvement over stock Series diff lols

Just go the Ashcroft locker a tried and trusted brand , Mine cost $870 landed to vic:cool:

Ok, you hold a torque wrench on the gearbox output shaft while I rev the engine to 2500rpm in top gear before dropping the clutch.Strapping young fellow like you should be able to stall the engine if its only putting out 80-90ftlb;)
