    disco 1 no drive at all

    hey guys i have a disco 97 model v8i SE i just brought it 4 weeks back and all of a sudden it had no drive at all than i only have reverse that works have no idea why or wat the problem is i did a gearbox service on it replaced filter and seals and topped with new fluid! there was bit of gunk in it but not bad! any idea's would be awesome! just pm me thanks heaps

    sticky stuck or clogged valve body/solenoids don't play with it your self they come apart in two bits take it to a good auto trans place

    Manual or auto box? Some of the early R380 had a reputation for chewing main shaft splines but in a 97 model these problems should have been overcome.

    I believe some auto boxes develop a problem where they only take off when the stick is put in "1" and they can then be driven manually for years if necessary.

    Yep, little plastic sprag, which was metal in earlier stuff.... And is the retrofit

    same prob here mate. reverse but no forward gears... looking forward to a resolution to this problem. drove fine before this. gearbox was smooth as silk.
