    Match Please!

    My D2 V8 has had a starting problem for some time now,, always starts,, just not as it should, seems to fire on just one cylinder, and after TDC.
    Bit the bullet and took it to our local LR dealer. No codes at startup, O2 sensor code after ten minutes idle. everything tested fine, leads, plugs, coilpaks, fuel pressure.
    This morning (heavy dew)started fine then missed untill warm. even then no grunt at all. [was also a slug coming home yesterday--] Low idle at lights,
    [I wonder if the LR Tech disconnected the MAF?? will check around 9am]

    runs sequential LP injection.

    I want my green one back!!

    If the plug lead boots are anything other than a tight fit, moisture will seep under the ends. Try observing the engine after dark. Also try reducing the plug gaps, I recommend 0.6mm. A coil pack may test OK but still be damaged. The only way to make sure is to get a pair from a working engine and swap.

    can these things try to start on gas?
    and how do I tell?,,

    I suppose the gas injectors working would be one way

    Doesn't your switch show what fuel its running on? Does it misfire on petrol only? Does you LR tech know anything about this gas system? Have they got the software to check it? What plugs are fitted?

    Does your LR tech know anything about this gas system? He wasnt asked to diagnose the gas system,, He was asked to connect the LR computer and read any error codes, which he did,, he also checked fuel pressure and it was fine.
    Have they got the software to check it? NA
    What plugs are fitted? I dunno, these were fitted by my usual mechanic/gas man and the car ran fine on them.
    the running like **** has only happened since yesterday arvo. yes, directly after leaving LR.
