How lean can these read?
I don't know about Rangier's guage, but the Enerac I posted can read 0-25% O2 (total, not excess). They are $$$ though, and the O2 sensors need replacing every year or two (the latter is probably the same for RR's sensor).

There is ~$300k of equipment in this image, not including the 4x4. Most of it is to measure (diesel) particulate.
my concern with the "stick it in the stack" type readers VS diesels with 3 way cats and DPF's is that you're reading whats coming out after its been treated which means whats coming out the tail of the turbo or the vavles is different to what you're reading.
There Enerac combustion gas analyser I posted on the previous page has a probe that can suck a sample from anywhere you can drill a hole. The same goes for (most) of the particulate sampling equipment I have posted above (though in some cases preconditioning of the gas is needed - cooling and moisture removal).
For engine tuning you of course would want to measure pre cat and pre DPF (and probably pre-turbo).
