    300tdi radiator

hey all, kinda of in a hurry on this one. What are the good rads to buy for a 98 300tdi....my OEM died at about 200k, my replacement (Adrad I believe) has only lasted 100k, the internal is ok, but all the fins are disintergrating......

I would prefer copper over alloy.

edit: forgot to add it is a defender

Serg,go genuine and get the baffle hole patched, also replace the rubber mounting grommets. If the last core lasted 100K you make have an electrolisis issue, are you using OAT or Glycol?,everyone knows my thoughts on OAT as that could also cause the core to corrode. Pat

Thanks guys. Pat, as im in a bit of a rush,(truck at mechanincs getting timing belt done and I said to remove and rod rad......thats when the fins were coming off in his hands) I ended up getting a local made core (Copper)...as in made on the Gold Coast. Red Back is the brand. This is through Red Devil, what sold me was the guy told me, with out any promting about the baffle on the LR rads and to braze it shut. I rang Car Craft, and MR Automotive, both good prices and both ex UK but I could not be sure of origin....

as for coolant, I had Tectaloy (glycol) in it after blknight fixed a p gasket, about 15000k ago. Before that I dont know? as far as corsoion...this is external not internal and I go to the beach about 3-4 times a week to surf.....you should see some of the cast alloy corrosion that comes through pefectly sound paint/powder coating.... and door bottoms are vented as is my footwell

I am getting one from th eUK when I upgrade mine, it will come from alisport. They are full alloy and have a bigger capicity.

You might be supprised how quick they can get here if you can go without for a few days.

    Hope this helps

More volume, more water/coolant. Alisport make all race and touring stuff. Worth a look on the web.

You just have to earth them well, apparently. Send them an email, very helpfull. I am also going to get a bigger intercooler from them.

They are not hughly bigger, think you just cut the hoses to fit, oil lines just bend I think.

Best give them an email or look at the site, I dont have the stuff in front of me and it has been a while since I looked at it, it is just part of my wish list hidden from the wife
