You can get 46mm piston Def calipers for solid or vented rotors. Dougal (kiwibacon) has all the relevant part nos. posted by HSVrangie in the FAQ section under Rover on Outeimits4x4.
Cross reference the part numbers with those on Paddocks website. If you get the calipers from them get Mintex pads at the same time, price is dirt cheap and they're streets ahead of anything else I've used.
Solid rotors do have some advantages over vented.

Indeed both solid and vented versions exist. I went vented for extra cooling when towing and hills. I'm not hard on brakes but decided if something broke up a skifield and I needed to use the brakes all the way down, it would make the difference.
I stay away from mud, so rotor vents filling up with muc isn't a concern.
All the part numbers I collected are archived on here too. I'm not sure exactly where as I've never had to look for them.

The MA forward discos have a single brake line system like the defa
The LA backwards have a dual brake line system to the front brakes.
To make it a factory fit, an MA master cylinder, protortioning valve and brake lines are required as well as the Defa calipers to convert a LA or earlier model.
It's cheaper to get new calipers out of the UK than second hand ones here. :(
