High beam only.
But who would ever check?
Regards Philip A
Ive put my driving lights on the 110 and wired them so that they can only be switched on if the headlights are on. Is this legal in NSW or should they only be linked to high beam.
High beam only.
But who would ever check?
Regards Philip A
I like that answer, technical accuracy practical solution - thanks
Its much more convenient for driving on the road at night if through the high beam as then you only have to dip one switch and not scramble for a second when another car is approaching.

Maybe worth a little rewiring - the single dip makes sense.
What about those spotlights (supposedly fog lights) that tossers drive around with on at all times? They can be turned on and off without high beam.
True, but it is illegal to do so - certainly in Qld.
Fact is, they are fog lights and totally ineffective if used with headlights in fog, esp if locked to high beam.
I have to say - and it does pee people off - we have rules and laws on many aspects of our behaviour, including road rules and vehicle regulations. The 'nudge, nudge, wink, wink' suggestions on ignoring them are a bit misguided to be frank. This is not Mogadishu.............and thank Chr-st for that.
Cheers,
Foglights! Arrggghhh!!!!
One of my soon to be ex mates has swapped his standard fog lights for a set of Lightforce 170's with Yellow Covers mounted down low and drives around with them on all the time.
He wont listen......
The Qld. rules for use of foglights are quite specific. Only to be used in conditions of poor visibility, must not be used in conjunction with headlights, and must be wired so that they can not be switched on unless side and tail lights are on. Likewise long range driving lights, must be wired through the high beam circuit, switch off when high beams are dipped.
