Question Help needed Series 3 Girling dual system brake master cylinder

    Hi All!

Hope you're all having a great start to 2012.
Mine would would be better without this issue...
Got a Series 3 88" lightweight. Milspec is the dual system brakes (two inlets from reservoir, two systems; front and rear). As pictured here :

Series Land Rover Dual Power brake conversion

    and titled "88 master cylinder".

As you can see, the rear of the reservoir is held by a flange with 2 retaining screws. These can be removed, the reservoir turned sideways without removing it from the front outlet, and the tipping valve withdrawn to allow the piston assemblies to slide out.

Unfortunately, mine is leaking from the attachment of the front outlet, that the manual advises "do not remove" etc. Mine has also had $$ spent to stainless sleeve it years ago, so chucking it for a new one is

My question is - how do you remove the reservoir from the front outlet to the piston assembly??? Trying brute force (typical LR style ) but I fear damaging the reservoir.

    Cheers,
    Dave
