Bump.
On the D1 the inlet and outlet pipes are underneath the cooler. On the P38 cooler (ESR2276) the inlet and outlet pipes are on opposite sides of the cooler. How do you connect the D1 pipes to the P38 cooler?
Or were there two types of P38 trans coolers (1995-98 with connections underneath, 1999-2002 with connections at the sides)?
Bump.
In the absence of P38 people - check to see if the fittings are the same. In all likelihood you will need to visit Pirtek or Enzed and get a custom line (either flexible or pipe) made up. According to Paddocks the ESR2276 is good all the way up to 2006. Remember that the P38 was a 2nd gen vehicle, and at the time most of it's design did not match with the Disco/Defender in the same year.
It may be easier to use a RRC/Disco oil cooler.

When I put my P38 cooler (11 row from memory??) into my 98 tdi auto Disco, I got custom made flexible hoses made up by Pirtek to connect from the end of the hard lines to the connections on the P38 cooler. Yes, my P38 cooler has the connections at either end, but so did my standard 3 row cooler that was in there to begin with. No idea what year model the P38 cooler came out of, sorry!
Cheers

Just arrived: 2012 D4 3.0 HSE, the journey begins again ;-).
Gone: 98 Disco 300tdi Auto, and some extras
My 95 V8 Disco has the spiral type of cooler with the pipes coming into it from underneath.
May have to get Enzed to remove the existing connection on the Disco pipe and replace it with a some connector that allows me to use high pressure hose and run it up to the P38 cooler pipe ends.
