P38a fuel pump electrical connector - same as any other LR ?

I've been jinxed by Ron !!
We were just discussing fuel tanks & fuel pressure testing yesterday & lo and behold, our P38a conks out this morning (it's Leslie's car when all is fine but 'ours' when it has a problem). Who'd have thought Ron's bad luck could be passed down a phone line .

It would start & run for a few seconds before cutting out. I suspected the fuel pump (confirmed when I looked at the car tonight) so have one coming in tomorrow but I have a dilemma to sort out before fitting the new pump.

Now, I've known this car since day one & it had a history of eating fuel pumps every few months. It wasn't actually the fuel pumps dying but the electrical connection burning at the pump/body harness & damaging the top of the pump.
This went on for a few years before one of the techs decided to bypass the connection altogether & solder the harness directly to the fuel pump assy.

I knew this when we bought the car & it's been fine in the 5yrs we've had it & around another 3-4yrs in the original owner's hands so 9yrs out of the pump isn't too bad.

Now I need to change the pump & I want to refit the body harness connector. I'm sure the original problem was in the original connector so a 'new' one should be fine - they weren't available about 10yrs ago hence the solder repair.

So my question is (before I call Andy and/or Erich tomorrow), does anyone know if the D1 or D2 harness connector is the same as the GEMS P38a ?

Do you want me to photograph the connector on the P38A pump?

What's odd is that the RAVE drawing for the pump connector C110 doesn't match the pump. A quick look at RAVE shows the same connector diagram for the windscreen wiper motor connector C127 - if that's of any help.

The same drawing is used for:
C190 - behind front RH headlight
C333 - near RH exhaust hanger
C506 - Beneath coolant expansion tank (not a good one to get!)
    C521 - Knock Sensor
    C526 - Knock Sensor
    C535 - near gearbox
    C536 - near gearbox

I don't know if they are all the same size as the fuel pump connector.

    D1 pump:

Pretty sure they are both the same for pre '99 pumps.

Ahh, good - the ETM can be right sometimes then.

STC3683 is a fuel pump link lead for fitting a late D1 pump into the ealier D1 update (their pump is NLA according to LR). I might get one of those & use the end that I need .

Just received a link lead from Karcraft. It looks like it will do the job .

Back on the road tonight hopefully.
