    Shock pin to eye converters

I am fitting new diffs to my 90 and the rear shock mounts have been modified to take an eye connection at the diff end. Can you get a converter that i can attach to the current pin thread on the shock that makes it an eye connection?

    Thanks,

    Dave

You can make them, I have, but the eye will be considerably lower than the original as you need to use the threaded portion of the pin to attatch. Better get the correct length shockers to fit.

Depends on the shocks you are using. I used to have Bilstein 5100s on my RRC and the top eye fitting could be unscrewed and a pin adptor could be screwed in, these were Bilstein parts. It may be better to just change to shocks with eye fittings and sell you old ones. I just replaced mine with 10" Bilstein 7100 with remote reservoirs for $180 each + postage from the USA

New long travel shocks are on the to-buy list. Might have to wait a month or so though as I have been spending way too on the truck over the last 2 months!
When I do replace I will go eye to eye shocks. Not actually certain what shocks are in there at the moment but they have only done 15000km so should be in decent condition.

i have spare set, but they are for small eye fittings, i changed to larger diamter eye adaptor on my 90 - shane at suspension stuff sells them, i ran plus 2" i think patrol shocks in rear and +2" 80 series shocks in front, before long rover shocks were readily available. british offroad sell + 5" for rovers now, i don't know their measurements to compare to what i have though - dont think it would be hugely different. ring them and get open and closed lengths to compare - keep in mind the adaptor raises the rear lower shock mount by about 2"

shanes ultra flexi coils have a good untrapped length too compared to alot.

    Question

    Guys...

I will be up for new Shocks in the rear of my '96 Defender 110 Wgn. I came across these Pin to Eye Adapter from Superior Eng:
SUPERIOR PIN TO EYE ADAPTER 16MM EYE SHOCKS (EACH) for $48/each

Just wondering if anyone has done this conversion and if so, how have they found it as in durability wise?

Cool, good to know... There just seems to be more of a selection of Eye-Eye Shocks on the market than Pin-Pin ones. It just gives me some more options

I've been trying for years to give these away, for the price of postage. I've got no idea what they fit.
