Bundalene has excellent posts on heat and noise insulation in his Puma buildup thread.

Wouldn't you want the foil on the outside, so it is the first point of contact for heat and sound, so it reflects it away. Mechanical venting I have seen is a sheet metal box with foil covered insulation on the outside. They are trying to keep inside the duct cool....
Double post by HTC...
Bill if you are going to the swap meet this sat at yarra glen I will bring some insulation for you
Foil outer foam inner and sticky backed, you stick it underneath and the foil faces the heat. It sticks like sxxt to a blanket.
Doesn't do much for noise but works a treat for heat
I'm going with a mate in his 25 series
( I thought your POS was slow!!!!)
He imported it from the states all original down to the hubcaps
Should wack your truck in the show and shine
Dc
First thing check is that all the rubber boots around the gearsticks etc are sealing properly and there are no unsealed holes in the firewall. Hot air rushing into the cabin is more of an issue that radiating heat.
A similar discussion on teh corvette forum brought up this stuff:
Floor & Tunnel Shield II - Heat & Sound Insulation 050507 | Purchase DEI, CryO2, Ny-Trex, Boom Mat & SPA Turbo Products | Design Engineering, Inc. - Thermal Performance Products
American auto parts were the cheapest last I checked.
Enclosed footwells with the exhaust right under your feet means the cabin in a 70's vette can get quite warm.
Thanks Dave,You are aware the swap meet is on Sunday? I was planning on going early because we have a LROCV trials event at home starting 11.30 ish.
Yes my POS is very slow. Although I live only 15KM from Yarra Glen I may have to leave home on Saturday evening to get there before they open the gates for the swap meet.;)
Bill.
Yes I no it's sat
Look for a green 25 series in the show and shine
Or I'll see you round

Only joking, the 25 has no transfer, just low gearing
