You can adjust any play out of the steering box, but I don't think that is what you are on about. Fit the damper where the original is. The only adjustment is Toe In or Out, unless you fit correction bushes or slot the ends of the diff housing. A 2" lift should not affect steering or handling, though a Toe adjustmrnt might be needed, Regards Frank.

taking your defender to a good tyre shop for a wheel alignment might be your best bet.
tell them that you have lifted the car.

not really sure how important it is but it doesn't cost that much and if anything is out it will save your tyres if it's corrected and might make it a little nicer to drive too.

    Thanks Tank
    So 2" LIFT no issues
    Castor / camber no issue
RTC. damper I fitted in place of normal but havent adjusted the damper spring pressure..
I'm getting a bit of wandering when I drive. Taken up as much slack in the s/box as I felt ok with. So must be the toe in/out. Sounds like i need a wheel alignment.

    Hi fid-def,
By lifting the vehicle you have reduced the caster angle and this will lighten the steering and lower the self centering ability causing the vagueness you describe.
I run 265/75/16's compared to the factory 235/85/16 which seems to compensate a bit for this effect but I don't think I would want to lift it any higher without a caster correction kit.

    Cheers,
    Paul.
