    D2 acceleration problem

Hi guys, have a problem with my 2002 TD5 Disco that i thought you maybe able to help me with. Started it today and was running very ruff so shut it down. When i went to restart it it was doing the same thing so i shut it down again. I checked under the bonnet and nothing seemed loose, so i go the wife to start it while i was looking at the engine. It started fine and idled correct. So i took it for a quick drive and noticed that the initial acceleration was lagging, then off it went. I took it around the block and every time i went to accelerate from the stop position there was a delay in the car taking off. Once i got some acceleration up it ran fine. Even when coming down in speed it idled correct. It's just that initial take off. Does any one have an idea of what it could be?? any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. This is my first post on this website so please be gentle. Regards Paul..

    Is the car maintained regularly?

Are your hoses on the turbo and that from the intercooler connected and in good condition? Lack of acceleration could be lack of boost from turbo, either turbo is suss, hoses allowing boost to leak due to poor connection or the inside of your hoses are delaminating resulting in a partial blockage of the air intake path.

Could have a fuel blockage but I'd expect that to show symptoms that are worse at higher fuel demand/higher engine speed.

Is the vehicle an auto or manual? Could it be that it is in limp home mode stuck in 3rd gear for auto? Are there any lights on in the dash?
