    You can wind the kickdown cable a little tighter and it will boost the line pressure resulting in firmer shifts and hold a little longer in gear . Really no need to do anything else .

    so did any one end up pulling there's out. i have similiar problems want shift into 1st or R when cold for 30 secs and also want change out of 1st for 500m when cold.

    thanks. yer ill have a go soon. nothing to loose b4 giving up and paying 3k for a reco'd exchange box from zf plus mechanic cost to remove install...

    whatever you guys do, i strongly recommend digital cameras to record each stage, after 2 or three you get to know what goes where....

    Be very very careful as there many offrice plates in the valve body, all with different diameter holes. Get them mixed up and you will be in for a world of hurt.

    I think I might add that trying to do this with no prior experience is a bit like building a house from reading a book.

    Sounds easy until you get stuck into it..........

    I have good mechanical skills but something this technical I would much prefer to be an offsider to an expert as there are always tricks with this sort of thing. I will quantify this by saying I am not trying to put anyone off, but rather if you are thinking of doing it make an honest appraisal of your skills as well as whether you have the tools and workspace if you do then go for it. I guess this is the professional trainer in me coming out.
