Unhappy Lost all drive Diagnosis needed

I drive a Discovery 2 td5 auto and it's been 3 weeks since replacing the flex plate and putting in an ashcroft HD torque converter and car has been running great. It clunks on change down after stopping at the lights but, it wasn't to bad. How ever on Monday morning I lost all drive after accelerating to 100ks and I needed a tow truck ( glad it didn't let me down on the Sunday while up in Toolangi)

Anyway I get the following fault

NANOCOM - D2AGB.APP - DISCOII AUTO GEARBOX fault file

    CODE P0722
    STALL SPEED MONITORING
    ---
And so far I have checked

    Fluid level - OK
1st,2nd,3rd,d,r no drive not even a change in engine revs from p or n to any gear
p does engage the parking cawl

transfer case hi - no drive with cdl no drive
transfer case lo - no drive with cdl no drive
transfer case is not in neutral if I place the case in neutral I can push the car P engaged

jacked up front left wheel engaged cdl can't spin wheel
jacked up frear left wheel engaged cdl can't spin wheel
(do I bother checking the right side)

    What could it be?
    Has a blockage formed?
    Is the pump stuffed?
Is the 3 week old converter stuffed?

I'm running Penrite Multi-Vehicle Full synthetic

    Is there something I've missed

Sounds like either broken the centre out of the flex plate, or a pump drive/ pump issue, or converter/input shaft spline failure? . Either way, box out for a check

have you checked the oil level and the line pressures on the box?>

if the box has enough oil in it and no oil pressure its not being driven by the engine OR the pump is stuffed.

    IF its low on oil........

Stall speed monitoring means the box is not registering speed on the Gearbox input. By itself that tells you only that the input shaft of the gearbox is not being turned. It could be not being turned because there is not enough oil in the TC or that the TC is not turning.

Other faults could include a stripped input shaft/gear (Ive never seen one yet)
The sensor could be fully shorted which will give the computer a hearty (I have heard of one incident and not experienced it personally,)
The strainer could be completely blocked (never seen it personally had some ancedotal reports of it)
The relief valve could be stuck fully open and preventing the box from developing enough pressure to initialize (seen it once but the vehicle would still make very gentle progress if the box was put in manual mode and first gear was selected)

Are you checking the fluid level while the engine is running?

No must say i didn't run engine I just undid the fill bolt and fluid pored out.

I'll do a running engine check when i get a chance.

For the moment I've just parked it at the back of the drive in disgust.

The test is to see if the fluid level drops while the engine is running, that will tell immediately if the pump is working.

If fluid pours out with the engine off though, it has enough to at least get gears when selected at idle.

    Keep looking.

    Hi,

    most likly a pump issue,

to check this, remove the lower oil cooler pipe, put it in a bucket, start the engine, oil should pump out like a hosepipe, if it doesn't, you have no oil pressure because either the pump is broken or the flexplate is bent and the converter has been pulled off the pump,
