Bosch gen 111 19lb injectors are what you want. They don't have clip slots like the Disco originals, so a second o-ring needs to be put in the higher groove at the bottom, to stop them dropping out of the fuel rail when under pressure.Quote:

Whilst an engine swap would be good it is definately more work than I have the money/time/patience/space to take on at the moment!
I plan on keeping this car for a long time so probably will end up replcing the Rover V8 with a hydrogen/electric/hybrid/fusion/solar powered thrust module in 20 years time when petrol is $13 a litre. Although the hover tyres might make 4wd-ing a bit too easy.
I agree, get the WOLF working well.
NB** Pod filters are rubbish!
On the timing side of things, I run 14 deg BTDC on my stock 3.9, It loves it! Back in the dealerships we never went past 6 degrees, or 9 degrees on an LPG car, but mine loves 14!!
Also look at a plenum spacer to inrcease the closed volume of the plenum chamber.
You can also get larger throttle body grafted on you plenum chamber (top inlet manifold cover thing..) or be lucky enough to find a "Vitesse" dual throttle body inlet plenum from a Rover SD1, but they are pretty rare!
These will really take advantage of that new cam you are considering..
Or a 4.6 short motor :)

Yep, the pod filter willl be gone as soon as I work out what I am doing and get the raised air intake sorted. I will just use a common filter box and paper filter, something cheap that I can get replacements from repco etc easily.Quote:

IMHO, the only way to guarantee a good distribution of fuel would be to get either a 4 barrel manifold, or mod a stromberg manifold, by cutting the top off and fitting the supercharger outlet to the matching hole. the "spider leg" pattern of these manifolds would ensure better fuel distribution, than one small outlet on a sandwich plate over the 8 holes of the standard lower manifold.
You would have to drill the manifold for injectors and fab up a rail , but that is probably the least expense you will have seeing you will have to get a throttle body, high pressure pump, maybe larger fuel lines etc etc .
IMHO, if you are thinking of forced air, 2 small turbos would be better. AFAIK you can get subaru or similar turbos second hand . I reckon , if you then got old single outlet manifolds, you could make adaptors for turbos out of boiler pipe. While it would take more pipework, there would be far less expense in fabrication involved as you would just stuff the air into the current throttle body with no mods to rails etc , maybe other than bigger injectors, and the Wolf could control advance based on a MAP sensor, and could easily control fuelling. That is if the Wolf controls timing. If not you will have to buy lots more hardware.

Would something like a vortech supercharger be better? Has the adavantage of keeping the current throttle body etc but with the power from idle.
The project is as much 'something to do' as anything so dont want to spend a fortune.

This auction has eneded but a kit like this solve the fabrication problems. I would only look to run the system at fairly low boost so hopefully the standard fuel system with upgraded injectors will be good enough. If not it would become clear when it goes on the dyno and i can sort it
I Have just replaced my injectors with ones for a Magnor
they have 20% more flow and a better spray pattern
