    Wrangler AT/SA or Maxxis 751s

    Evening all.
Time has come to replace the dodgy HT tyres on the disco, and tomorrow is the magic day, as they will be needed for a run to coonabarabran on friday evening.
I can get a set of 5 Maxxis 751s for under 1k, or I can get 4 of the Goodyear Wrangler AT/SAs.
    Any thoughts?
D2, no lift, 70-80% on road driving, remainder off road/ gravel roads.
    Which would you go for?
    Cheers

I'm happy with the Maxxis 751 Bravos on my Defender. Before I bought them, I asked everyone I saw with them fitted, what they thought of them. Everyone seemed to be happy.

I don't know anything about the Goodyears.

    goodyear wranglers

gday disco, i have just purchased a set of goodyear wranglers, i purchased the silent armour. fella i purchased from is a mate who works for the tyre retailer and has them on his 4wd, has been cape york, kimberly done 60k still plenty of thread. looks like goodyear make a decent tread.
the silent armour i purchased have a reasonably aggresive tread pattern and are quiet. if i actually new how good they were i wouldnt have bought a set of muddies.
anyhows i cant compare the 2 brands you are looking at but am happy with goodyears. goodluck.

My experience with Maxxis Bravo's are as per the photo. this was after 3 1/2 yrs and 40,000kms. Notcie that the tread is still 70-90%. Pressures checked every month, no leaks. strange thing is it was all 4 tyres not just the odd one.
Have had Bridgestones before this and they lasted a lot longer and had to change due to them wearing out!!!!
Gone back to Dueler 694's. Got Lt's for the price of the normal 694's.
245/70's correct the speedo to about 3-4% at speed. Will fit the rims easy.

    Cheers
