So I found this out at an intersection. Thankfully stopped in time. I got home ok, I'd say I had about 20% braking. If that. In the garage was a big puddle of fluid near the front wheel. Is it common for a wheel cylinder to pop or fail? This is on a LWB series 3 by the way.
I have read lots of horror stories about bleeding brakes on these too. Any tips? And is it better to consider kitting the cylinder or replacing it? And should I do both cylinders on the wheel or do the 4 on the front end?

At the very least i would do the 2 in that wheel.
However, since there are NO second chances with emergency stops, I would do all 4, and flush the fluid in the system.
Old age/stale fluid are the usual causes of them letting go, and YES, they can just "pop" the seal.
