    New springs please explain.

I'm looking at an engine update in my Disco 2 with an iron block V8. I still want to retain the stock suspension height but will need springs that can maintain that height with the added weight.

When I have a look at spring catologues online, they say heavy duty, 2" lift, moderate load, constant load etc etc etc.

Can anyone shoot me in the right direction? The motor is a 302 Windsor with alloy heads. The actual weight increase will be iron block over the stock alloy block I have now.

Perhaps those who have stock suspension height with a steel bar with a diesel motor could recommend springs with all of this in mind? Also, some advice for shocks too perhaps?

    Thanks.

You may find that standard TD5 springs suit.

Will the 302 comply with emissions etc before you start? You'd be one of the very few to do an engine conversion on a Disco2 - I think the electronics puts people off.

    Cheers Slunnie.

The motor will be as per EB-EL Falcon as far as engine management is concerned and the same emissions ADRs continued on until 2004 so I'll be OK in that department.

The electronics side will be a challenge as I have all the fruit in my Disco and everything feeds off the engine management but I do have a plan. Cheers

If you find the Td5 springs suit, i'm going to be swapping mine out quite soon, so if you're interested in them.
Then again it may be better to find some with less kms, mine have done 218000.....
    Cheers
