if you need to flush the tank, strip all the fixtures off, put int 10-15l of hot soapy water, slosh it a round plenty, drain, rinse with hot water then leave in the sun to dry or force air through it.

reassemble and thats it service complete.

untill they start passing copious amounts of oil into the outlet line (you'll see it when you run it with the flushing oil in) they're pretty much maintenance free.
Thanks for the advice I'll follow up on that.....

I'm pretty sure I have the manual that came with mine. I'll have a look when I'm in the shed later today. If I have it no problem to scan it and email it.
Manual ? Awesome now that would be the best news apart from all other advice.

    Many thanks again everyone

Pump and motor look similar to mine, but my tank is about 30cm longer, as for diesel
    Quote:"a. never drained the compressor
    b. oil reservoir is completely full (as opposed to very clear instructions on the compressor to fill it till the little window is ½ full)
    c. when I drained it there was copious amounts of oil mixture released with the water content"
I assumed that by your statements above you had water and contaminants in the compressor sump.
My suggestion was that you flush out the crap with some diesel with the comp. removed (couple of bolts) give it a good slush around and thoroughly drain the muck out, simple and effective, the idea is remove any diesel and replace the oil, no diesel will go through the system from the sump.
My experiences with these cheap Chinese compressors are that it is cheaper to buy a new one than try to find parts, the only parts I could find for mine was 1x oil seal 1x gasket, Regards Frank.

    Thanks for the replies....again.

@Frank Have you seen the pic of the compressor? I also don't have oil in the sump (think I'm right) The oil came out with the condensation build up immediately after draining the compressor via the drain plug. So am I assuming your post is to clean out the tank with diesel?

    Thanks Frank

I have obtained a copy of the MANUAL so thanks all again for the help

No mate, the compressor sump, you stated that it was full of water contaminated oil, so I suggested flushing the sump (Compressor) with a little diesel and then draining and the topping with new oil to the proper mark, Regards Frank.

Ok scratch that I don't recall saying "sump" just the tank. Sorry about that

Ah. Okay. I saw you'd got one so didn't navigate to here again until now. I'll try and remember to have a look for it in the shed tomorrow. Same deal as before - if I find it I'll scan and email it to you.
