Changing a flat with no jack.

Out in Wallaroo yesterday with Sam (series3) a sharp stick sliced his tire badly, the only jack we had was a ****y little bottle jack that wouldn't lift it high enough to do the swap on the uneven ground. so we came up with this. worked a treat.

How to change a wheel with no jack? Ring 13 11 11 NRMA Road service!

I always have trouble finding the correct rock face when I have a flat, so the NRMA gets the call.

(BTW: Nice original suffix H SIIa, my fav model! and a 6 cyl too at least that's what some would say with that design grill)

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

They didn't make production 88" six cylinders but they may have made a prototype at least there is one very good retrofit in Sydney.

My comment was directed at the numerous people that will tell you with a straight face that the welded wire grill on the shorty above was only fitted to the six cylinder models.

The welded wire grills like this one were part of the Australian Content rules to avoid excessive tariffs. This grill and at least two earlier ones on the cross-eyed models up to Suffix G were fitted to all Australian assembled SIIa. The UK grill being the woven corrugated flat bar type seen on many of the military vehicles.

The Australian content rules lead to things like tyres, batteries and brake pads being removed and replaced by Australian made ones on everything imported including the Range Rover classic four door.
