D1 clutch shudder
Recently the clutch in my '97 300tdi D1 has started to give a quick but very noticable shudder just at the point of complete drive takeup.
Taking off with higher revs. smoothes it out quite well, but this (to me) is only slipping it more and the tecnique seems pointless when stop start inching along in heavy main street traffic.
About 260k.km., is the clutch nearing the end of life? It doesnt slip at all under full load but I have done quite an amount of towing the van (~1750kg.)
I also worry a little about the "pushrod through the fork" syndrome!
Any thoughts, thanks.

I have a similar thing developing with my 300Tdi 130 DC, so I've decided it's new clutch time (it's on it's way). I'm also going to have the flywheel machined because the shuddering could be the result of a high/hot spot. Definitely replace the clutch fork too. I was only getting about 60 000km out of them on my last Tdi, until I upgraded to the HD version (like this).
