Hi,
A major cause of the tank seams splitting is worn grommets under/on the pins at the bottom of the rad.
When they get compressed over time the weight of the rad and coolant is carried by the two bolts on either side which are only meant to control fore and aft movement. Make sure all the weight is supported from the bottom.
Recently fitted a new Britpart rad ($408 from Les Richmond) which seems fine so far.
cheers, DL
$408 sounds like a good price for peace of mind.
I had to do something quick, so I've used a Yankee concoction. - So far it appears to have started to hold. Certainly slowed the flow drastically within 15 minutes. The Super shop did'nt appear to have any Nulon in stock.... In fairness it was 2 mins to closing time... A tube of Silver Seal residing in the glovebox is a good idea.
I've cleaned up the area and will give it a few more days before I start crowing. Have done 90 minutes today plus the 45 minutes last night after adding the Magyck Brew.
Thanks to all.
James
