Sorting out the plumbing on the TDI200....

Many swear words, a little luck, a little skill and just enough stupidity to not leave well enough alone.

everyone who showed was mainly there for the boost control line re-routes, hands on for valve adustments, some minor inspection stuff and to try to slate time.

Nope, It was only down for a look see, get some opinions on how to sort it properly and try to schedule the time in to get it done. It'd have to have the weirdest turbo setup I've ever seen.

    And on that note...

Thats it for this year, The dogs of hook, the gates are closed and now I get to do the full yearly clean out, tidy up the last jobs and odds and sods then get ready to prep fozzy.

    why?

So i can head over to perth, do some stuff at xmas and wind it all on again in the new year.

y'know there are days I feel like Sisyphus,

Thanks again for helping me sort out my turbo.
Mine was the problem child of the day, managed to snap 3 out of 5 studs holding the dump pipe to the turbo housing.
Thankfully nothing else went too wrong and i know what will likely break next lol.
    Thanks again.

the mods are pretty easy, you'll have to get blue mini to take photos of his for the deefer the manifold setup is different to the disco that I have it done to.

but basically pull the inlet manifold off drill and tap a hole in it.

use that outlet to feed the turbo wate gate acutator and either blank the fitting on the turbo that used to do it or fit the boost gauge there. And thats part one of stage one tuning on the TDI completed.

Heres a few pics of what was done, not the best i had to take them at night.
This shows the EGT gauge in the exhaust and the signal pipe for the actuator going past where it was connected to the turbo housing.

And this is the line for the boost gauge that comes off the turbo housing. A very simple mod and I have noticed a little bit more power from it as well.
