Lathe! Stick the pulley onto your electric drill and your almost there.

I've done similar things with a drill press - things get a little wobbly though!

I finally got the second alternator running today . . . well, I'm sure you all know how long these things take. Anyway, I found that a 10A0825 belt fit perfectly, and today the charge light went out quickly and a voltmeter on the main battery showed a happy 14.4 volts. Now I just have to wire up the original alternator separately for the auxiliary battery. I must say I'm surprised at how easily the whole thing came together, and it should be a good safeguard when out of town up here.
