First impressions are good - the Range Rover looks exactly like what you'd expect an 83 Rangey to look like, but the engine goes like stink which I'm very happy with. Bloody scary the amount of power I have to play with compared to the 300tdi. Still deciding if it's the best purchase I've ever made, or the dumbest purchase I've ever made, regarding the work ahead of me, but the die is cast, so in the Defender it'll be going :D Am certainly looking forward to the end result.
Initial impressions are the engine has a few "unique features", particularly the exhaust manifold and turbo setup, I might post a few photos later on. Steering pump seems to be the three bolt variety - good or bad? Not sure if the course of action will be to get a stock manifold or not - will probably get advice from the isuzu guys later. Other things I reckon I'll need to grab will be a v8 rad (TRS have one for me), a wingless sump for ease of routing the exhaust, and an electric cutoff for the injector pump, to keep things simple.
