Thread: Tyre sizes for D3

I have purchased a 2005 D3 2.7Td. It has 255.55.R18 tyres on it.The tyre placard on thr RH front door states that it should have a tyre of 255.60.R18.
Using a tyre comparison chart I found tht the tyre has a 80mm smaller circumfrence. I know that you can legally increase the size by 50mm, but can you legally decrease by50mm as well.?
Given that I have a 80mm smaller tyres I think that the tyres on there now are illegal anyway.
The tyre comparo. says that when the speedo is showing 100kph, I am actually doing 96.5 Kph. The G.P.S. I was using showed a greater discrepency, possibly due to the speedo being out in the first place.
What tyre sizes ars ALRO fitting?

The size you have is the standard size for 18" Range Rover Sport tyres. Other than a slight difference in speedo readout not a issue. I have a RRS with the size you should have and again no real issues.
