Have you tried replacing the battery in the key fob ?
Does the LED in the fob illuminate when you press a button?
Have you checked key codes held in the BCU with a Nanocom or similar?
Do you have another Key fob ?

What was the reset procedure you had done and who did it?

I had the system reset with the landrover computer system. the key has a new battery the fob illiuminates etc. When on the computer system it had lost the key codes, they where then reset and all was good. I left the vehicle for a few days and then the keys once again would not work. Cheers
Me thinks your BCU may be feeling unwell![]()
Flippant replyThe problem attracted the punny pedant.
Which one:
. how to change gears,
. mixture settings,
. distance traveled,
. how to unlock the doors for you,
. how to start the engine?
Given the replies, I'd guess it one or both of the last two.
Suggest it is probably not the key's memory (note key's memory) but rather the BCU or ECU or the data stream between them, perhaps the key's reader up in the head lining near the centre light, and/or the sender coil around ignition lock. All it would need is a chafed wire somewhere. Even one from one of the doors' prox sensors.
Just thought of a really simple one that has caught me in the past. The bonnet down micro. Bracket only needs to have been pushed down a little and everything stops. Hold it down with your finger and then try full lock unlock sequence a few times.
Cheers

Except its a D2 Rick!
The BCU are known to fail occasionally and behave in such manner.
I mean, geez... Without a diagnostic, he changed the battery in the fob.
What else can we diagnose from sitting behind a screen?!
