    HELP-TD5 Disco missing/running on 4 cylinders.

Help, I am stranded in Newcastle from Victoria, with a sick Disco 2 TD5 (2000 model). It started running rough (on 4cylinders) 2 days ago, was intermittent but now permanantly. I connected my Nanocom to it, with the following codes:
27-01 Injector 1 Peack Charge long (current)
31-01 Injector 1 Open curcuit (current)

    I have checked the following:
-There was no oil in any connections from the Injector harness connection or in the red ECU connection.
    - Coolant levels are normal-has not used any coolant.

The injector harness was changed in 2003 according to the service manual.

If anyone has an idea what could be the problem, would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Cameron
I'm in Newcastle if I can do anything let me know. You could try all 4 x 4 at Kotara, they should be able to assist. Sounds injector related.

If you have any tools with you, remove the rocker cover and have a look.

I would think it may be a faulty crimp in the connector on the plug to injector 1.

The fact it was intermittent makes this quite likely. I had this on a 2003 td5 a few weeks back.

If you remove the cover, wobble the wires in the plug, refit the cover with a couple of bolts and test it again.

Thank you for your advice, I did as you suggested, and all now working fine. Will get a new injector harness and fit tomorrow, as there was lots of oil in each of the 5 injector connectors. Thanks again. Cameron.
