Mine never had any oring I just use a smear of black max where the shims seal against the swivel don't use too much. At for the oring maybe someone else can help with that I have stripped plenty of disco and fender swivels and yet to find said oring
I've pulled mine apart to renew the swivel bearings.
A question with the top swivel pin.
What is used to seal this pin.?
I've got the o-ring TYX100570 but it looks like it goes under the top bearing race-this doesn't seem right.

That would leave the center of the bearing unsealed with only the top shims acting as a seal.
Would the shims be used as a seal ?
when I pulled it apart there were no seals or o ring on the top pin.

Did yours leak before strip down?
Do you run oil or grease in the swivel?
My guess is that when LR started using grease in the swivel they didnt need to seal these as well. From looking at the parts break down I have, that ORing is ment for the earlier type with Ralkio bush.
I would say if you have the same tapered roller bearing top and bottom, do not use the ORing. I can how ever tell you that on my 98 110 that runs oil in the swivel, there is RTV type sealant squished out from the top swivel pin. My guess is set the preload without it, than use the min amount between the shims and pinId say any amount will change the preload somewhat, more RTV, bigger change....
btw, this is all just a WAG from a chippy![]()
No leaks before, so a little rtv should be ok.
Was running oil in the swivel.
Going to go for oil fed all the way through.
Got a badly damaged stub axle so waiting on parts.

Think I just used a bit of loctite sealant around the edge of the shims then let it dry. No problems so far but I haven't been wading or anything.
Used the hylomar spray on the shims, squeezed out nicely when torqued.
