All the horror stiries have come from non TDCi owners, one in particular.JC,I crossed from Newman to Alice Springs in mine during the heat wave, the temps were over 50 degree's C,so hot in fact that the Goodyear MTR's fell apart, one blew out the side wall and the other four suffered nine punctures between them and three of the four had stripped the rubber so the steel belts were showing through when I arrived at the Alice and none held air so a set of BF A/T's replaced them. The MTR's had only done 40K and I'll never buy them ever, thats the least amount of K's I've ever got out of a set of tyres. The TDCi like my Tdi has after that trip, the hardest I've ever done has my complete faith, the Tallawana had not one single entry in the Georgia bore log for 12 months before I arrived,I cannot put into words how hot it was and all the TDCi faults, weak diff, engine priming, too may electrics etc are a load of crap, the TDCi is the best model Defender yet.
