If you have bought new axle limit straps from a dealer/parts supplier, they probably will not fit as the military straps were much longer than the civilian version, NOS military limit straps are very hard to come by, hope thats of some help, cheers Dennis
ps If by chance you do have the correct straps, it is easier to replace them with the wheels off,,.

For the record, get some fire hose and fold in half and glue then have sewed down the edge by a good upholsterer, wad punch bolts holes at correct length.

Definately, you effectively end up with 4, while slightly thinner, layers of rubber lined canvas. Either hit up the local firies for some of an old hose they may have or you may still find it at clark rubber off the roll or at an ag supplier.

An old timers trick is to use old seatbelt webbing, up to you whether you double it over or not, it's not going to break. I have some for my series 3 but havn't yet fitted them!

Conveyor belting is another possibility, most of the ones I've purchased recently look like red conveyor belting.
The originals fitted to my Series I & II are wide webbing folded. Not sure whether it originally had a row of stitching to hold it together.

4 Wheel Drives carry the standard length and a longer length for military vehicles (longer shackles).
