I do have SLS, so if I went down this track I would make a box.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

I don't like that idea much as what happens when you drive through mud or dirty water?
I had a Merit Plug on my back bumper short in mud on the Sam creek south exit and blow the maxi fuse protecting the whole rear of the car. Luckily I noticed the LED on the fridge low voltage protector was out.
So no chassis mounts for me of either a battery or compressor.

you can buy a kit from most good engineering suppliers with a quantity of strap and a number of worm drives...eg 1 metre and 6 worm drives.....you can cut the strap to whatever length you need and just slide the worm drive on and tighten it up....

about $70 - was less than I expected. I've taken to mine with an angle grinder to fit a bigger battery, hence the questions

the clamps you are chasing are called band-it Clamps. and are not really suitable for what you're aiming for.

Nutsert the battery tray, use a bit of flat bar and then use long bolts into the nutserts to hold the battery down Or base clamp the battery but be careful, if a base clamp lets loose you've lost control of the battery.

    Nutsert the battery tray,
There are 25MMflanges at each end, unless the poster has cut them off.
All you have to do is drill a hole in each end and use the threaded hooked bolts from a $15 kit. There is not much room for a big drill but an air drill has plenty of room.

I always forget my box of nutserts, great idea.

And yes I have cut off the flanges to make the battery fit.
