Newby with new LR4 doesnt want to alter wiring.

I ran a 6mm cable from my 2nd deep cycle battery in engine bay thru a fuse board, under the D4 along the chassis, following existing cabling for much then brought it out under rear bumper near the 12 S and 12 N sockets, to my Anderson plug. No near to get thru fire wall then back out of the cabin at all.
Currently wiring everything to tow a Van including installing electric brakes onto pin 5 of the 12S. Using the 12S to supply power to the Breakaway system on the van. Now trying to add a wire to a spare pin on the 12S for the Break away battery monitor. Now that's a problem as the back of the 12S is siliconed up and there are no wires it seems attached to these spare pins. 5 wires only power - direct and ignition, 2 earths and reverse. The colours don't conform to any standard I can find to date.

As I said, I won't be doing this until the warranty is up but I plan to use the ignition feed (12v+ with ignition) as the connection to a Redarc 12v 25A dc dc charger as the indication that the ignition is on (alternator running) but the charging current will be delivered via this battery feed pin (30A) Has anyone else fitted anything like this system and got away without stripping out the 12S socket.

I've found an error in my LR4 manual and feel I need to correct my comments above based on Landrovers response.


My manual states that the permanent 12V Positive (battery feed) at the 12s socket is 30A (hence my 25A charger should be well matched). When I blew my first fuse I discovered that a 15A fuse was fitted and that the fuse "map" on the back of the fusebox cover states that it was 15A. I have been to Landrover to check whether the wiring is rated at 15A or 30A (if 30A I could refuse to 30A) but they have confirmed that it wired to 15A only). So like many others I am forced to run some cable and fit an Anderson plug in order to power my charger. Sorry all, I was mislead by the incorrect manual, LR checked my vin and confirmed the error last month.
