Sounds about right. Although he recommended don't do it, he conveniently had a "per rim" price book number to give me. Price book will never be less than a price/weight.

So the place you called can't do centrifugal galvanising???
The guy is probably used to light weight trailer type rims...
As I said before, I spent about 60 seconds per rim cleaning them up with a grinder after Galvanising (dipping). Most of that was where the bead seats. I can tell you how much lead it took to balance them all when I get home... (no more than a painted rim).
It's all good. I think I've mentioned before, I like to change my mind on things a lot. :p I've decided what I'm doing with my rims at least 3 times now. "Today" I'm going to mod Disco rims to +10 offset then paint them myself. (I have more time now I'm doing a turbo build. )
How much wider are these than standard rims?
How much wider are optimum for 255?
Thanks I actually meant offset. I wasn't clear from the previous thread.
Not sure I understand the question, however:
Disco standard rims: 16"x7", +33mm offset
Old Defender rims: 16"x5.5", +33mm offset
Not sure what new Defender wheels are...
